In collaboration with Environment America Research & Policy Center and Frontier Group, we are excited to share the Solar Permitting Scorecard: Grading all 50 states on removing obstacles to rooftop solar and home batteries. This report compares state-level policies that affect the adoption of rooftop solar energy and distributed energy storage, and grades states on statewide policies that support the adoption of residential solar and/or storage capacity.
A majority of states have done little to adopt common-sense practices that reduce the costs and delays that permitting and inspection requirements impose on families wishing to install solar panels and batteries.
